The New Pally Mangal Samity was started in 1948 by a group of educated and uneducated scheduled caste young men to include the condition of their fellow brethren. At first, a modest start was made with a night adult literacy school. Then a free library named ‘Pallyshree Pathagar’ was established with the kind help of Sri Bano Behary Mitra, teacher of Srinath Institution, Falta.
Incidentally, the villagers of Manika and members of the Society are the first in producing ‘Palm Gur’, the said centre was opened with the help of BDO Diamond Harbour Block – II.
In the year 1980 another group of young enthusiastic people who were concerned and committed to the growth and development of the area, decided to join hands in the development efforts which were already on. These young educated people recreated and registered the New Pally Mangal Samity at village Manika, under Bhadura Haridas GP, Diamond Harbour Block –II in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It was also affiliated by (a) R.K.Mission Ashram Lok Siksha Parisad, Narendrapur, 24Pgs(S).(b) Saroj Nalini Dutta Memorial Association Bullygunge, Kolkata, (c) Monimala, Kolkata and (d) the Neheru Yuba Kendra, Diamond Harbour, 24 Parganas (South) according to its performance.
At present the samity manifested with two storied building like gate way of Manika and great mission:-
- To create healthy and cordial relationship among the villagers;
- To up-lift the down-trodden peoples;
- Education, Health and social security for all.
The area is 50 km farthest from Kolkata but there is no facility of Road, Electricity, Proper treatment and Education of children.
We have been working on child health and education, mothers health, rural vocational training like Tailoring, Poultry, Bee keeping, Cycle rearing etc. awarness camp on health, pollution, poverty, consumers protection, library, eye check-up camp, income generation programme like agriculture, piciculture, games & sports and cultural programme in this remote area for all round development since its inception.

To all round development of backward, poor, schedule caste, schedule tribe people including mother & child of the rural area.
